How do we enter a new year with the best foundation structured around us for success? It is not in our resolve, resolution, goal or determination.
Instead it is in our acknowledgement and our choices. Our understanding of what is most important, what stands underneath all things, what makes up our foundation and what we choose to do about it.
Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:25-26 (NIV)
Whatever we hope for this new year, whatever goals we set, whatever prize we run towards, our Father must be the first thing in all our endeavours.
From the first thought on our mind in the morning to the last thing in our hearts at night. Our relationship with Jesus will frame, support and guide everything we turn our hand to. We can either work with Him, or walk past Him.
Can a man hide himself in secret places so that I cannot see him? says the Lord. Do I not fill heaven and earth? says the Lord. Jeremiah 23:24 (RSV)
What we choose to do every minute of the day frames our impact on eternity. God has chosen humanity as the place where Heaven invades Earth, and your individual impact is precious and beautiful to Him. He loves and cherishes who you are and what you bring.
As you are looking at this new year, first frame it in light of your relationship with God. Put all things into order under your Love for Jesus and His Heart for you. Discard anything that pulls you away from Him, listen to Holy Spirit as He shows you what is necessary and needful and what is harmful or unholy.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Never rely on what you think you know. Remember the Lord in everything you do, and he will show you the right way. Proverbs 3:5-6 (GNT)

Are there things He is asking you to address, or to leave behind? Are there new horizons approaching? Is this year a year which promises to be similar to many others, and therefore precious time to grow deeper in Him? This makes it far more precious than any year previous, no matter what it looks like at the beginning.
Is it a year for pressing into promises, for warring or renewing your mind? Are you approaching a new season, or continuing a season; do you need to assess your season for signs of growth or change? Are your dreams big enough?
Whatever conversations you and God are having together as you survey this new year, I pray you will have the best year of your life together so far. I pray the depths, the heights and the path before you will open up in a way which proclaim His Glory, His Presence, His Love, His Peace, His Blessings and His Fierce Joy.
He is always asking us to take a journey deeper into His heart, to discover His hidden depths and our unrealised potential.
May we be fully overtaken by God this year!
God Bless You Very Much
