You Are A Hidden Treasure, Treasure.

I have a picture for you this week. I asked Papi what to write about (as usual) and so, here goes.

Have you ever thought about where you are in relation to God? As in, imagined or looked where you are when talking to Father, Son or Holy Spirit? Do you ever have ideas or pictures of places or an understanding of where you meet, or what you are doing together?

I often do. Mostly it’s related to what I’m doing in the moment, but at other times it’s different. The one I want to share today though is a fascinating picture I often have about how near it is possible to get to God, and how safe it is being there.

Often I have a picture of God sitting up on an enormous chair-thing somewhere in the middle of the universe, where it is somehow possible to see everything all the time. Stars, planets, animals, people, angels, everything past, present and future, everywhere, all the time, all at once. And I am sitting in the corner of His elbow, and we are talking while He is dealing with all the things going on everywhere. Then, I crawl in underneath the folds of his robe and right into his heart and I curl up and stay in the safety of the very Heart of God. Right inside Him, inside His Heart. There is nothing there except me and the Heart of God.

This might seem a bit weird, or even stupid, or to some sacrilegious, however, I don’t believe so.

For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. Colossians 3:3 (NIV)

If we believe as we do, here on The Narrow Way, that we have the life of the Resurrected Lord Jesus Christ inside us, then, we also are in the Father, even as Jesus himself said when He prayed for us all in the garden before His trial and crucifixion.

I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. John 17:23 (NIV)

We are great treasures to God. Jesus came to pay the price. There are little parables in the gospels that are mostly applied to how much it costs us to chase the Kingdom, but I also believe, that they are markers to remind us how much He regards us as treasures.

The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field.

“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it. Matthew 13:44-46 (NIV)

We are not accidents or afterthoughts, but deliberate and necessary. Each person, individually created to be in communion with God – if they so choose. If you have chosen, or if He knows you will, He will hunt you down like a treasure in the field, like the Pearl of Great Price and tuck you into His Heart where you are hidden with Christ, never to be snatched away.

Oh how He loves us!!

God Bless You Very Much.

Anita.
